Old School Wisdom

WE SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE who can think beyond the tip of their nose. It's an old school expression that my father used a lot in talking to me. My father only had a 6th grade education and he was brilliant.

What my father had was a world of common sense honed in the university of hard knocks. Before anyone knocks that university, I can personally attest that common sense, honed in the real world, NOT the theoretical world of academia, will take you much farther in life than you could ever imagine. The school of hard knocks is real, the lessons learned are instantaneous... no waiting for grades to see the necessary results. It is an amazing world because every decision results in a consequence that is very real and very consequential.

We have all learned about the school of hard knocks when we were young, it is filled with FAFO. Touch a hot stove and and you will never touch it again. It was an old school simple system that when combined with old school foundational teaching of the basics of hard facts, reading writing and arithmetic, could take you very far.

Now, I don't speak of that which I do not know.  I attended local college for a year. I attended  UW-Milwaukee for another year thinking that it would be different from the local community college atmosphere of UWW. I followed that up with being married to a UW-Milwaukee educator for 26 years until her death in '23. I gleaned everything that was possible from my wife who was a consumate professional instructor, both in the classroom and in the household.

Jennifer was an outlier in the university system. She instructed but she refused to indoctrinate, as most of the University of WI system is prone to do nowadays. Believe me when I tell you that the university system has a hive mindset that knocks down with great force, the nail head that sticks up (an old Chinese proverb) Jennifer experienced it first hand and survived.

Charlie Kirk and I would have been best buddies had the opportunity afforded itself because we are both keen students of human nature and history, both biblical and secular, really the only two fields of study that can give you an honest and true masters degree of any value today. I only came to realize Charlie's brilliance in his observational abilities, after his death, by studying his YouTube videos. Charlie understood the difference between instructing and indoctrinating. My wife, Jennifer, knew that difference, as well and I greatly respected her implementation of teaching, not indoctrinating, in her classroom atmosphere.

I observe everything. It is an occupational hazard of being a member of the union of human beings, worlwide membership body 777, in good standing. Charlie Kirk is my hero, not that I followed him at all regularly but I knew of him, what his core was all about. We need more Charlie Kirks in this world to expose the indoctrination centers that public and Ivy league universities have become. Charlie was on that mission like the junkyard dog chomping on a bone.

Most do not know the history of the Ivys, but by all means please look them up. They were  foundationally Godly institutions, If you think that I am kidding, I am not. Education at one time in this country deserved the respect that it was given for its solid foundations rooted in glorifying God, but not anymore. Nowadays, they push a Godless marxist agenda and they push it hard on young easily influenced minds.

The reality now is that if you send a child to university, you are most likely pissing your money away. Education has really changed that much. But because common sense, as one friend observed, is not that common anymore, students do not think through or are too fearful to challenge what they are being indoctrinated into. I can tell you from Jennifer's near 40 year experience in high level college teaching she saw that transformation taking place bit by bit, over the years.

Which takes me back to my 6th grade educated father. Who said two great maxims on a regular basis, "you have to think beyond the tip of your nose, so never stop thinking". The first was a warning to me to think deeply, never use hasty judgement, always think things through thoroughly.  The second warning was to always be in control of your own mind. My father said, "never let someone else do your thinking for you" which neatly wraps up the difference between living as a free human versus becoming the slave to someone else or some system of indoctrination. Modern university indoctrination encourages just the opposite, an unthinking group mind think which is a slave attitude.

I don't have a public university degree because I have something better, a degree in common sense passed on by a 6th grade educated father who became a millionaire through his hard work and non-stop thinking ability.

My father cherished the freedom that this country allowed him to have. He used that freedom to the very best of his abilities to make a good life for himself and his family inspite of many great adversities that he had to overcome. My father had a strong will which he used to become an overcomer in life. My father passed on that American dream to me, that anything is possible with will power and hard work. It is my responsibility, as well as yours, to pass that dream on to our posterity.

We now have headwinds trying to destroy that American dream and supplant it with another,  in the form of indoctrination camps called universities which teach the tenets of the slave mindset. There is a reason that blue collar jobs are not being filled. High school students are being told to eschew honest good blue collar trade jobs in place of attending university.

Universities now turn out graduates with arcane degrees that are flooding barrista jobs at Starbucks while the trade unions are starving for applicants making near and over six figure incomes, the barristas are trying to pay off six figure education loans with tips obtained from making triple Caramel Macchiatos all day long. Today, universities do not provide life long career skills as much as an advancement towards the goal of worldwide marxism, one brainwashed mind at a time. It was a slow progression but it is real and now indoctrinating our kids and grandkids.

I hope that I have painted a very clear picture here. We are off the rails, as a society. It is largely because we no longer think beyond the tips of our noses. We no longer even think but we are contented to lazily be told what to think.

In net effect we have willingly allowed ourselves, as a society, to throw away our God given free will and become slaves in its place,  slaves to what panacea the universities are pushing in the form of the marxist mindset. Marxism offers up free everything for everyone, all the time, as long as you are willing to give up your agency of individual free will, in exchange. A culture that has slowly been conditioned to let A.I., machines, as well as cheap immigrant labor do everything that we used to proudly do ourselves, has already surrendered and raised the white flag, without even realizing it!

In my favorite book, that big black one called the Bible, it describes how evil steals away, what by birthright from God, is rightfully ours, free will! The universities are transforming our culture from one that reveres God given individual freedom, to one that is slave based, wed to an idea that central government, as god in control of our lives, is the benevolent overlord that we have all been on the progression towards!

The reality is that generations of old understood and knew this poisoned apple trick very well and did everything in their power to resist and educate their children as to its danger. In becoming 'wise' and abandoning our true Godly foundations, we now profess ourselves to be fools before the world!

My Swiss father, had many things of great value tranferred to him when his predeccesdors first stepped foot onto Ellis Island, and not one of them was of material in nature. The treasure chest was wisdom, born of common sense, a gift from God, not of man. The foundations are crumbling because we have not only ignored that gift but more importantly, forgotten the Giver of that gift.

Charlie Kirk understood the nature of this dilemma deeply. We have had our treasure stolen from us but in doing so it has always been hidden from us while still being in plain sight the whole time! Charlie was silenced because evil can not withstand the truth that Kirk was successfully spreading on campuses to the next generation of young. Charlie was opening the students minds to that truth of God, family and country, the foundations of the civilized world. These are truths, that as the assasin was plainly aware of in his statement, "could not be negotiated with". Charlie was an emissary sent from God who was turning back the tide and that is why he had to be silenced.

That big black book tells us everything and I mean everything, that we need to know to defeat evil and its greater purpose of the destruction of this world as God had created for it to be, and more importantly the enslavement of its inhabitants. Darkness can not withstand the light, God's truth defeats and drives back evil into the crevices from which it crawled. Truth always triumphs over evil...but only if we the people employ the agency of our God given gift of will power to boldly spread that truth into the greater culture!

Charlie knew the potential cost of directly going up against evil. Evil put one bullet into the truth of that which Charlie was speaking, mid-sentence. Evil had but one instant of time to rejoice in stopping truth before Charlie was brought to stand before his Savior. In that instant heaven rejoiced, as God welcomed Charlie with one directive, rest now my good and faithful servant...I've got this!

The rest will become recorded in His-story, on Jesus timeline, for all eternity to observe. If one hears this message, catches the fire and passes it on, it will all be worth one single breath that Charlie or I, ever drew.

Dear Father and Lord Jesus Christ, we come bowed before You, we beg Your mercy upon this nation and for revival to sweep across this land as it never has before, we give You all the praise and glory for what You have done and for what You are about to do, Amen!
